Participants in RTA's visual art program learn art theory and history from Bosch to Banksy. Studio projects range from landscapes and self-portraits to creating personal logos, story boarding and fashion design. Participants at Fishkill's origami workshop produced One Thousand Cranes, exhibited at a local art gallery.
Artists' work is showcased at RTA's community guest performances, providing a rare opportunity for the artists to display and discuss their work with audience members.
Artists also support theatrical productions, creating sets, costumes and props.
"Students take risks by showing their work and opening themselves to criticism. They open their minds to trying new things and to learning, always learning. They open themselves to creating an active community, a positive force."
